RADIO NORDSEE INTERNATIONAL - RNI Audio CDs From the moment this station came on the air in 1970 it was in trouble. In just 4 years it managed to interfere with the Clacton coastguards, had its medium signal 'jammed' by the GPO, interfered with the reception of another station in Holland, an attempt was made to cut its anchor chain, got involved in a court case with a rival - Radio Veronica, it was fire bombed and it lost its anchor chain, but between all the dramas RNI or Radio Northsea International as it was also known, was a terrific station. During the 1970 General Election, the station called itself Radio Caroline. Here we have a 2 CD documentary set, a double CD containing jingles, promos and the 2 station themes - Man Of Action and Peace. There are also audio CDs containing the first test transmissions in 1970, the official opening, the station's involvement with the 1970 General Election, the cutting of the anchor and more. SWINGING RADIO ENGLAND - CDs / MP3s Swinging Radio England ("SRE") was a top 40 offshore commercial station billed as the "World's Most powerful operated from 3 May to 13 November 1966 from a ship in the North Sea, three and a half miles off Frinton-on-Sea, Essex, England. The studio and the 50 kiloWatt AM transmitter of Swinging Radio England were in two separate prefabricated rooms lowered into the two holds of the MV Olga Patricia (later renamed MV Laissez Faire), a World War II vessel built in the USA as a supply ship. The station shared the studio and transmitter holds with a 50 kW AM sister station named Britain Radio billed as the Hallmark of Quality and broadcasting easy music. The great sound of Swinging Radio England it had a short life but the impact on british radio was emmence, hear many of the Boss Jocks again on these excellent MP3 productions.
